Greece: First Line of Duty Death of Volunteer Firefighter
The Hellenic Volunteer Firefighters Association is deeply saddened to confirm the death of Volunteer Fire Sergeant Panagiotis Plexidas.
Panagiotis, 27, was battling a brush fire along with his colleagues of the Volunteer Fire Station of Paravola in Agrinio, Greece, when he lost his life in the early hours of Sunday 6th September 2020.
Our hearts go to the family, friends and colleagues of the fallen firefighter.

Gas Fire Training on gas fuel firefighting techniques
On Sunday 18th October 2020, fifteen Greek volunteer firefighters members of the Hellenic Volunteer Firefighters Association, took part at the 2nd annual Gas Fire Training on gas fuel firefighting techniques in Schematari, Viotia, conducted by “Marine Training and Safety Consultants” in cooperation with “Pyrognosi Institute”. The training was sponsored by the Greek Orthodox Community of Melbourne & Victoria.
