The Nordic CTIF National Committees held their yearly meeting in Aalesund

This year the Nordic CTIF Annual Meeting took place in Aalesund, Norway on 7-9th of January.  The discussions included thoughts on how to arrange future Delegates Assembles, a review of the experiences from DA 2019 and thoughts about the set up for future CTIF events.

The group also discussed the upcoming Nordic CTIF Seminar 2020 on HazMat.

The various countries reported on their respective activities in CTIF Norway, CTIF Sweden, CTIF Denmark and CTIF Finland.

The cover photo above shows the representative delegates from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden in front of the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center - A very interesting center where advanced simulations also working with big data were demonstrated.

A discussion was held about the future of foam for extinguishing fires, environmental short term and long term effects, within the directives of the United Nations Sustainable Environmental Goals.

The hosts, the Norwegian CTIF National Committee and Aalesund´s Fire & Rescue Service, had chosen to hold the meeting at the Norwegian Maritime Competence Center. Representatives for the center held a discussion and a presentation on Smart Cities, simulations and the use of Big Data in planning activities, for the society, for the tourist industry and for the Fire Services.

Another interesting demonstration was the use of robots for pedagogical training of school children.
